Spiritual Direction
A space for you to slow down, notice what’s stirring inside, and listen for where you’re being called.
About spiritual direction
To be honest, I only learned the term spiritual direction fairly recently — though looking back, I realize I’ve been offering this kind of space for a long time.
In many ways, the name is a bit of a misnomer. Spiritual direction isn’t about giving directives — though most of us would love someone to just tell us what to do sometimes!
This work is less about answers and more about staying with the questions.
Less about fixing and more about noticing.
Less about changing yourself and more about meeting yourself — just as you are.
My role isn’t to diagnose, problem-solve, advise, or teach you tools. Instead, I hold a gentle space where you can be with what you’re thinking and feeling — without pressure to make it better or different.
I believe that in this kind of space, we meet ourselves more honestly. And often, we find that we’re being met too — by others, and by God. Not through the roles we play or the personas we carry, but in the truth of who we really are.
One of the most important things I’ve had to learn in order to hold this work is this: God is already moving in your life — our lives — in ways we can’t fully see or understand. Something bigger is always unfolding. And we’re each a part of it in our own way.
In a practical sense, sessions are spacious and unhurried. There’s a lot of room for listening. I ask questions and offer back what I notice. And most of all, you are simply held, witnessed, and loved.
Who this is for
Spiritual direction is for people who:
want a deeper relationship with God
are in a season of change, loss, or transition
are asking questions about faith, purpose, or calling
feel spiritually dry, confused, or restless
feel like they’ve been carrying something heavy and aren’t sure how to set it down
want a place to talk about their spiritual life honestly
are tired of only talking about God and want to listen for God
In other words, it’s not just for monks or pastors. It’s for ordinary people who want a place to bring their real lives — doubts, hopes, fears, longings — into a space of listening.
What happens in a session
In each session, we slow down and listen — to your life, your questions, and the quiet ways God may be moving. I listen, ask gentle questions, and reflect back what I notice. At times, I may guide you in a contemplative practice — meditation, journaling, visualization, or prayer — offering gentle invitations for self-inquiry and space to encounter Spirit.
How I hold this work
I hold this work with care and accountability. I’m receiving formal training in spiritual direction through Sustainable Faith, participate in ongoing one-on-one and group supervision, and am myself accompanied by a spiritual director. This keeps me grounded, supported, and continually learning — so that what I offer others is also something I am living.
I believe, as John Calvin wrote, that when we know ourselves we come to know God, and when we know God we come to know ourselves. My vocation is to hold space for that holy meeting.
How it works

Two 1:1 sessions (45 minutes each)
Sessions held via Zoom (or in person when available)

Between sessions, you’re invited simply to live your life and notice—interior movements, questions, resistances, invitations, or places of quiet attention.
This is not a program. It’s a relationship. A way of walking together.

How to begin
When you’re ready, you’re invited to begin with a one-month spiritual direction container.
After checkout, you’ll schedule your two sessions at times that work for you — usually spaced about two weeks apart.
Our first session starts just as this work is meant to be held: with listening. We’ll slow down, get to know your story, and begin noticing how Spirit may already be moving in your life.
There’s no preparation needed and no expectation to have things figured out. This space is about presence, not performance.
At the end of the month, you’re free to continue, pause, or choose a different rhythm. Nothing is assumed. We listen together..
